The Ganges river in India has been deemed one of the most polluted in the world. With corpses, human waste, and toxic waste consistently dumped in the river, it has become a hazard to the many populations dependent on its waters.

The Citarum River in Indonesia is not only the most polluted river in Asia, it is probably the most polluted in the world. Not only is the river lined with over 500 factories that dump their chemical pollutants in the water, it is so thick with garbage you can’t see the surface of the water in some areas. Coming in second place is China’s Yellow River, which sometimes turns red from the chemicals contaminating it.
