What livestock requires the smallest amount of feed in proportion to its weight?

Basic livestock regulations dictate that all animals must be given feed and water to maintain stable and healthy weights. Most cattle consume around 30 pounds of grains of grasses per day in order to maintain healthy growth. Pigs, sheep and other animals need far less to sustain themselves, but it is beneficial for farmers to feed their animals as much as they can so they can mature quicker and therefor be brought to slaughter faster.
