In 2007, the Renault-Nissan Alliance announced their goal of “zero emissions,” which for them means creating a vehicle which only emits water vapor. Their purported strategy of achieving this is by creating electric vehicles and, eventually, going on to produce fuel-cell vehicles.
A fuel cell vehicle is one which produces electricity by combining the hydrogen and oxygen naturally found in the atmosphere, the byproduct of which process would be water vapor.
