China is unique because it was once home to four subspecies of tiger. Siberian tigers have made their home in the far Northeast region of China near Russia and North Korea. The South Chinese tiger (now functionally extinct in the wild) lived in south central china, and the the Indochinese tiger’s territory lies in the Southeast region of China. The Bengal tiger lives mostly in India, but its range stretches along the border and into China.
