    The rainforest alliance works to preserve the rainforest and help make farming/industry there more sustainable.  They have programs for climate, forrestry and tourism among others, and recognize businesses who sell sustainably harvested goods from rainforests by putting thier frog seal on the product.

    They are an international non profit organization whose mission is to “conserve biodiversity and ensure sustainable livelihoods by transforming land-use practices, business practices and consumer behavior.” Founded in 1986 by Daniel Katz and few other members, the organization is based in New York and works worldwide.

The group was founded in 1987 by Daniel Katz. They work to reconcile the growing demand for trees and other forest flora by encouraging better on the ground practices. They work to combine productive agriculture, biodiversity conservation and human development.

    The rainforest alliance is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation of tropical forests. There programs include but are not limited to: agriculture, forestry, ecotourism, education, adopt-a-rainforest.
