The average annual rainfall is 78 inches in Jamaica, but the east coast gets a lot more rain than other places on the island, up to 300 inches. The southern coast gets very little rain. A typical rain in Jamaica is short and heavy, with the sun coming back out immediately after, which is typical of the weather of many islands. The most heavy rains usually happen around September and October. The first link below provides detailed charts of average precipitation for each month.
