While hydrogen cars could be a very viable option in the future, there are still some problems that need to be figured out first. One of the main problems is that hydrogen is not easy to keep in a tank. If it is in gas form then it would need to be put in a tank that is about the size of an average car trunk. This is extremely impractical and would be very expensive and a waste of space on a car. One way to avoid this problem is to use hydrogen as a liquid, but this comes with its own problems. As a liquid, hydrogen needs to stay around -482 degrees Fahrenheit. In order to make a container that can keep it at such a cold temperature would use up far more energy than the hydrogen would even be providing the car. Hopefully we will find solutions to these problems in the near future and hydrogen cars can be a common sight.
