Recycling paper is hugely beneficial to the environment; making paper from recycled fibers requires 60-70% less energy than making it from fresh wood fibers. However, it’s true that the recycling process still uses some energy and creates some pollution, so it would be even better if we didn’t have to produce the paper at all. Reducing paper consumption by being as conservative as possible with your use can have an even greater benefit than recycling. So definitely recycle whatever paper you do use, but try to conserve as much as possible.
