What precisely are the worries behind dumping coffee and coffee grinds down the sink, since it’s known that the grinds are actually good nitrogen fertilizers?

also, are there studies out there that show that fish and other ecosystems are damaged by coffee waste?

Coffee grounds are good fertilizers, but dumping them down the sink is not the way to put them to use as fertilizers.  When dumped down the sink, coffee grounds usually cause bad clogs.

Coffee grounds put down the drain will cause major clogs. The coffee itself doesn’t adversely affect wildlife, but you could say that indirectly, the methods of removing clogs from pipes do damage the environment.
