The Post Carbon Institute is an organization that tries to help “individuals, communities, businesses, and governments” to get the resources and information they need to live and work in today’s environment. They help people to learn about and encourage people to work towards a “more resilient, equitable, sustainable world.” See their website below for more information!
Their key program has been “Relocalization,” encouraging individuals and communities to renew a focus on local goods. To that end, they’ve had programs to educate local leaders, farmers, citizens, and international politicians about energy and general environmental problems, as they see them, as well as available solutions and technologies. In 2009, they retooled themselves to be less of a grassroots organization, focusing more on a broader swath of influence.
