What position in the American Government do you think is most important for protecting the environment?

As the sign on Harry Truman’s desk said, “The Buck Stops Here”.  No, the president does not have the power of representatives, but most representatives are more easily bought off (or even elected by) someone with alternative interests.

If the president pushed legislators on the environment, and was “green” in his personal life, people would take after that.  When it comes to the government and the environment, I think good PR could be more powerful than a bill.
