A population’s growth rate is calculated by subtracting the death rate from the birth rate. The global population growth rate is 1.3%. This seems like a small number, but we already have a huge population (we reached 7 billion last autumn) that is putting a strain on our planet’s resources. Conservative estimates put the global population at 10 billion people by 2200; others believe that we may reach 14 billion by 2100.
There are several world population “clocks” on the internet that track deaths, births, and our overall population. Here is one from the Census Bureau.
Keep in mind that all of these estimates will vary based on available data, and that there really is no conceivable way to track exact rates or raw numbers.
