Turtles are known for eating many different types of creatures they are kept with. The best choice of pet to keep with a turtle is a fast-moving fish (who won’t be caught by a hungry turtle). A frog could also possibly be a good choice, but it is important to remember that amphibians produce toxins that they release through their skins, which can potentially be deadly to other pets in the tank. Also, there is no guarantee that a turtle couldn’t catch a frog. Your best bet would be a large, ornamental fish that is simply too big for the turtle to even consider eating.
