What percentage of the world would need to be set aside in parks or reserves to ensure the long-term persistence of global biodiversity?

Global biodiversity cannot be assured by preserving park land alone. Pollution like acid rain can travel far from the source, and climate change too knows no boundaries. Coral reefs for example are damaged by the ocean’s warming, even where they are protected. Pine beetles too can heavily impact forests, even in remote wilderness areas.
