What percentage of sunlight reaches the forest floor in tropical rain forests?

Only about 2-5 percent.  The huge broadleaf canopies absorb most of the light.  As a result the vegitation on the floor of tropical rainforests tends to be vegitation adapted to low levels of light (bromeliads, dotter vines, fungi, lichens).
