The United States is the world’s largest supplier of commerical nuclear power. The nuclear power in the United States is provided by 104 nuclear power plants, with 69 being pressurized water reactors and 35 boiling water reactors. With all these reactors, they produce a total of 806.2 billion killowatt- hours of electricity, which comprises 20% of the nation’s total electric energy consumption in 2008.
