About 2% of people are life-threateningly allergic to bee stings.
It is correct that an average of 2% will have an anaphylactic reaction (or life-threatening reaction) to bee stings, of which approx. .5% are children and 3% are adults. But about 10 – 15% of people will have a milder allergic reaction such as swelling, pain and itching.
