Since our national parks are protected they do not lose area, but loss of wildlife and melting of glaciers is certainly occurring.  Glacier national park had a reported 150 glaciers in 1850, but now only has 37.  While it is hard to put an exact percentage on the rate of loss per year, it is projected that we may lose all of the glaciers in the next 10 years due to melting.
