Since beekeeping, or apiculture, is a niche career, employment data is not readily available. As approximated in 1993, there were around 125,000 beekeepers in the United States. However, the number of these professionals has been decreasing, due to the dwindling number of bee colonies and loss of profit values for honey, pollen, beeswax, and other goods.
