The general accounting office reports that 36 states in America could face water shortages. Water shortages will come within the next 10 years in average water condition. The world bank reprots that 80 countries now have water shortages that threaten health and economies; while 40% of the world (2 billion people) have no access to clean water or sanitation. Most of these countries are Botswana, Bulgaria, Cambodia, the Congo, Gambia, the Sudan, Syria, African states, Banglore, India. Accodring to the Guardian, “One in sixth countries in the world could face food shortages this year (2011) becuase of severe droughts that was linked to water shortages.” South Africa has had the water shortages hit them hard; climate in Africa is changing. These areas in Africa are prone to droughts have become the most dry place since then.
