Park(ing) Day is an annual global event started in San Francisco, where artists, activists, and citizens independently but simultaneously temporarily transform metered parking spots into “PARK(ing)” spaces, or temporary public parks.
Out of San Francisco, (PARK)ing Day is a day when artists, entertainers, and anyone else takes a spot inhabited by a parking meter and turns it into a form of “park.” This basically means that something fun or cultural is done on the spot usually reserved for paying to park.
This year, (PARK)ing Day was September 18.
