What is in the oxygen bars that you see at the fair?

That would be just plain old O2 and whatever scent they add to make it more interesting. Any scents, both natural and artificial, are essentially volatile organic compounds that are floating around in the air. Although we are adapted to inhale some volatile organic compounds so that we can tell certain things about what we are eating (making sure it is not spoiled) or the emotional states of our fellow humans (pheromones–this takes place on a subconscious level), too much exposure to volatile organic compounds can cause asthma and other health problems.

Oxygen bars themselves are controversial. Although oxygen is used for helping extremely ill people with lung problems, it may not be the best thing to use when you are healthy.
