Organic litter, like standard litter, is used in the disposal of domestic animal droppings, using the same ‘litter box’ method. The difference is that organic litter is made from biodegradable materials, such as corn, pine wood or cardboard, which allows it to decay, rather than standard litter, which is manufactured using chemicals that do not break down. Organic litters can be used in mulch or compost, or simply flushed down the toilet, without adverse affects to the environment. The most popular brand of organic litter among consumers is Feline Pine.
