Although we don’t have any records of the clothing that the Homo sapiens wore 10,000 years ago, we have some of their tools that we believe are their clothing producing tools: hide cutters and scrapers and even primitive needles. These tools indicate fitted clothing made of animal skins. Before that, it is believed Neanderthals may have worn draped clothing to keep warm during the ice age 30,000 years ago and that’s it.
The oldest existing clothing we have found dated 9,500 years ago. It is from the Middle East and they still used animal skins. So although these hides were not by todays standards fabrics, they were used as them.
