What is the oldest species of alligator?

Among the oldest is Khoratosuchus jintasakuli, from about 100 million years ago. There are crocodile family fossils back to about 230 million years; they may or may not have species assigned.

If you meant which species of present-day alligators has the most ancient heritage, that’s a different question.
