Here’s the list: Suncor, Syncrude, and Marathon Oil Corporation (which purchased mines formerly belonging to a consortium of Shell Canada, Chevron Corporation and Western Oil Sands Inc.). Royal Dutch Shell is seeking approval to join them.
Syncrude is a joint venture owed by companies based in Canada, China, Japan, and the US. 60% of some projects is owned by Chinese companies.
