Ocean Acidification the presence of additional CO2 in the ocean. Over the last 250 years, the amount of CO2 in the worlds oceans has increased by 30% meaning it has absorbed about 530 billion tons of the harmful gas. This increase in CO2 could potentially wipe out species, disrupt the food web and impact fishing and other sea tourism. Ocean acidification is almost entirely attributed to humans burning fossil fuels and coal.
