    The numbat is also known as the the banded anteater.  It is a marsupial found in Western Australia.  The numbat is a small, colorful animal between 35 and 45 cm long.  It eats termites almost exclusively.

    A numbat is a marsupial found in southwest Australia. They are small, about 35-45 cm long and are covered in reddish brown fur with white stripes. Also called a Banded Anteater, this animal has a tongue that is half the length of its body, which it uses to eat over 10,000 termintes a day. Numbats live in open woodlands where Eucalyptus grow.
