The so called “niche” of these parts of a food chain are as such: Primary producers, or autotrophs, usually are the primary energy source of the whole system, and gather their energies from the sun.  Which indicates flora to be the backbone of any ecosystem.  Primary consumers are beings that eat the autotrohps—herbivores.  Secondary consumers eat primary consumers, and are usually omnivorous in nature, or carnivorous.  Tertiary consumers then eat secondary consumers.  Then you have Quaternary Consumers, which are at the top of a food chain, and have little to no predators.
