The House of Representatives passed the bill for the American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009 with a vote of 219 to 212. The bill now moves to the Senate for further consideration. As of July 7th, the bill had been read a second time and placed on the Senate Legislative Calendar under General Orders with calendar number 97. Senate has yet to vote on it, and in doing so they are failing to meet Obama’s request to have a set form of this legislation the the U.N. Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen in December.
