The Bald Eagle is a bird found in North America. It can be found commonly near seacoasts, rivers, large lakes, oceans and other large bodies of water where there is an abundance of fish.  The Bald Eagle also needs mature coniferous or hardwood trees for perching, roosting and nesting.

Bald Eagles prefer to live near bodies of open water such as lakes, marshes, and rivers where there are lots of fish to eat and large, tall trees to nest in.  In North America, Bald Eagles typically live on the West Coast from Alaska to Baja, CA and on the East Coast from Maine to Florida.  Eagles that spend most of their time in northern parts of North America migrate to the south during winter months.
