What motivated Jane Goodall to become an anthropologist?

Jane Goodall loved to travel and dreamed about working with animals. She had become a secretary and saved enough money to travel to Africa. There, she was chosen to partake in the chimp study. I believe this experience lead her to become an anthropologist.
