Ireland’s natural energy agency, SEI, is largely contributing to the improvement of the country’s environment. To do this, they are enacting new building regulations to ensure efficiency and promoting low carbon homes. Additionally, they are relying on wind and solar as the primary sources for Ireland’s energy.
Based on 2007 data, wind power produces the largest amount of electricity (1,958 GW·h) compared to hydro, solar, geothermal, and biomass sources. That was enough to cover 6.7% of the total electricity consumption.
