Silk is a great renewable fabric, naturally made from protein fibers spun from silk moth larvae.  It is biodegradable and can be disposed of in a compost or used as mulch.  There are other renewable fabrics options such as cotton, hemp, soy, bamboo and more.

Hemp is one of the most eco-friendly and naturally occurring materials in the world.  Not only is it strong and durable, but it has the ability to hold its shape making it extremely easy to work with and use for many different types of projects from backpacks to clothing.  What’s more is that hemp is lightweight and comfortable and also has the best heat capacity ratio which means that its a naturally perfect insulator.  On top of all these great properties, hemp is also soft and completely biodegradable!
