The biggest benefit of organic cotton is most likely its positive effects on the environment. Regular cotton uses a huge amount of insecticides: “Cotton covers 2.5% of the world’s cultivated land yet uses 16% of the world’s insecticides, more than any other single major crop”. It also uses a huge amount of fertilizer: 1/3 pound of fertilizer equals enough cotton to grow just one shirt!
Organic cotton does yield smaller crops (more plants are affected by pests, more plants die without the chemicals), but it also reduces the amount of stuff we’re putting into the environment. The other benefits you have suggested are great as well, but perhaps not as widespread and giant as the environmental impact of cotton.
