    The most powerful VW engine currently manufactured is a 2-liter petrol turbo, 270hp engine, delivering 350Nm of torque, available between 2,500 – 5,000rpm. It is fitted into the Golf R and manages the 0-100km/h sprint in 5.7 seconds in manual and 5.5 seconds in DSG mode. 

    A VW GTI W12 650 concept of 2007 produces 650 hp, but it is unknown if it was ever built, however it surely wasn’t mass produced.
