There are 4 common, populous types of jellyfish: cannonball jelly, mushroom jelly, lion’s mane (or winter) jelly, and moon jelly.
The Moon Jellyfish is the most abundant in the Atlantic Ocean. They can be as big at 18” across. They are typically purple, however, in August and September they appear pink because of the developing larvae.
