It is the golden poison dart frog, or Phyllobate terribilis, which lives in the rainforest on the Pacific Coast of Colombia. Its poison is lethal to humans, and can kill them if small amounts enter the bloodstream through small cuts. They are one of three frogs whose poison is known to have been used to poison darts by the Embera Indians of Colombia, and due to their toxicity and coloring they have virtually no natural predators – just humans and possibly one species of snake.
