Water is an integral ingredient to every body function and takes up 2/3 of the human body. The major ingredient of all fluids in the body is water, including saliva, gastric juice, bile, pancreatic juices, and intestinal secretions. It helps carry essential nutrients to all our cells, aids in circulation and digestion, and helps carry away the metabolic waste products, such as lactic acid, urea, uric acid, and ammonia.
Water is usually considered to be the most important nutrient to the human body. About two-thirds of a person’s body weight is water, our blood is mostly water, and so are both our brain and muscles. The major ingredient of all fluids in the body is water. People can go a few weeks without food, but only four or five days without water. Often overlooked as a nutrient, oxygen can be argued to be more important than water.
