Plants depend on a constant supply of Carbon Dioxide, or CO2, to grow. CO2 is a gas which composes 0.038% of the Earth’s atmosphere. It is used by plants during photosynthesis to make sugars. These sugars “may either be consumed in respiration or used as the raw material to produce other organic compounds needed for plant growth and development.”
