What is the most efficient wind turbine design?

It is hard to say because the two concepts most widely used are good in different circumstances. The horizontal axis wind turbine is more common, while it is really difficult to find the vertical axis wind turbine. It is also difficult to determine because some are designed for low wind speeds others for high wind speeds. Some of the most interesting can be found in the link in the citation.

Currently the most efficient wind turbine is the Enercon E-126, in Germany, producing 7 megawatts.
