In my opinion, homemade bread is the most eco-friendly type of bread. It just takes flour, water, yeast, some sugar and lots of arm strength. There are no chemicals, preservatives, food coloring, etc… It doesn’t require any machinery, except the oven. It doesn’t require trucks to transport the bread to the supermarket from the manufacturer and from the supermarket to your home. It doesn’t require disposable packaging. Homemade bread can be even more eco-friendly if you use local and/or organic products.
