If you want to eat salmon, most organizations that produce sustainable seafood guides say that wild alaskan is the way to go. It is very expensive, which means I eat it rarely, but it is good to print out one of these guides and take it to restaurants and grocery stores to help make informed decisions. Some marine labs publish guides specific to regions of the country so that you can have the most precise information but the NRDC has a quick guide that is a pretty good reference and a fairly comprehensive list.
