What is the most eco-friendly form of birth control? Even the monthly pill packs, the patches, and (especially) condoms create waste.

The pill is bad in more ways than just the packaging. There are elevated amounts of estrogen found in the waste treatment water as women pee it into the system. This is linked to impacts on fishes and who knows what else. Women concerned about this can switch to progestin-only hormonal methods http://www.webmd.com/sex/birth-control/progestin-only-hormonal-methods-mini-pills-shots

Condoms are not as much waste as you might imagine, even if you go through a lot of them. Condoms represent about 0.001% of our 152 million tons of trash. Tiny really, especially when compared to the increase of waste created by bringing another baby into the world.
