Going by the numbers, collisions involving passenger vehicles are responsible for the most fatalities. However, this of course doesn’t mean that this is the most dangerous mode of transportation, since passenger vehicles are the most common type of transport. There really is no most dangerous vehicle or craft, but a lot depends on how well whatever you are traveling in is mode, or the competency of the person operating the vehicle.
According to the 2008 Census, there were14,587 fatalities involving passanger vehicles, the highest number of any type of vehicle with compact cars (100-104 inches) with the largest percentage of those crashes at 4,737.
Out of mainstream forms of transportation, motorcycles are the most dangerous. Airlines, buses, and trains have almost negligible death rates; about 13 out of every 100,000 cars are involved in fatal crashes, versus 72 out of every 100,000 for motorcycles.
