Listeriosis is caused by the bacteria listeria which causes symptoms such as fever, muscle aches, nausea, and diarrhea. If the listeria infections spreads to one’s nervous system, that person may experience headache, stiff neck, convulsions, confusion, and loss of balance. Listeria can result in death.
