    Sulfuric acid is what most people call the “battery acid” that is found in sealed lead acid batteries. This is a corrosive acid that should not come in contact with you or be inhaled.

    While sulfuric acid is certainly dangerous, it is also very useful, and is the most-used chemical in the US. The main use is to dissolve phosphate rock to make vital agricultural fertilizers. With some exceptions, virtually all “dangerous” chemicals have significant positive uses.
