What is the most corrosive type of acid?

    Any sort of study of this question will reveal that there is no consensus among the scientific community about the answer to this question.  Some chemists say oxygen plasma; same say hydroflouric acid; some say halogen acids; some say other things.  They all have their reasonings.

    Sulfuric acid, or battery acid, though, is one of the acids mentioned most frequently.  It’s safe to say that sulfuric acid is extremely corrosive!
