Most baseball bats made these days are made from northern white ash, which is wood that comes from Pennsylvania or New York. That particular wood is used because it is hard, durable, strong, the right weight and “feel.” The wood used is from trees that are at least 50 years old and the best 10% of all the wood harvested is used for pro bats.
