Duckweed is a common aquatic plant found in lakes and ponds. It floats on the top and acts a water purifier. Ducks also consume it, which is how it’s transferred easily to other bodies of water. Duckweed is invasive, so small ponds and lakes need to have the duckweed managed so it doesn’t deplete the oxygen for other organisms.
